DRAWING up wills helped a Dorset law firm raise a worthy sum for good causes.

Blanchards Bailey solicitors, which has branches over Dorset including in Weymouth and Dorchester, took part in Will Aid.

Will Aid is the UK’s top charity will-writing scheme.

It offers everyone the opportunity to make or update their will in return for a donation to help people in need.

The money is shared by ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (Northern Ireland).

Blanchards Bailey drew up 30 wills for local people under Will Aid.

It raised £2,700 and with an additional 25 per cent added through Gift Aid raised £3,375.

Solicitor Cordelia English said: “We would like to thank all those clients who came to us during the Will Aid campaign, all of whom contributed to this fantastic total.

“Will Aid helps to improve the lives of local people and those further afield. I am very proud that Blanchards Bailey have played their part.”

Nationwide, the scheme has had its best year ever raising more than £1.5 million.
