THIEVES have stolen tools and copper piping from a building site in Dorchester.

The items were believed to have been taken from the old fire station site in Bridport Road between 5pm on Wednesday and 6.30am yesterday, police said.

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 9:73.

Churchill Retirement Living is currently redeveloping the fire station site with a scheme for 39 sheltered housing apartments.
