WEIGHT loss experts and health professionals will be in Dorchester next week, January 13 to 17, as part of National Obesity Awareness Week.

Consultants from Cambridge Weight Plan’s local centres will be setting up in the foyer of the town’s Tesco store with state of the art equipment for diabetes testing and body scanning.

The weight loss programme is the official sponsor of National Obesity Awareness Week and is also the main commercial partner and product supplier to Diabetes UK.

Local consultant Rose Woodward said Dorset had one of the highest rates of people walking around with the ‘hidden killer’ of type two diabetes and this event was a chance for people to come and get tested and find out about the condition. She said: “Dorset’s figures are rising so fast that it’s going to be out of control in the next ten years.”

The state of the art body scanner, the only one of its kind outside of a hospital, will also provide almost instant medical grade analysis.

There will also be a chance to speak to health professionals and taste some Cambridge Weight Plan products at Tesco this week.
