THERE is ‘great concern’ for the welfare of a missing woman who was last seen in Poole five months ago.

Joanne Watson, who may also be known as Josy, disappeared from the Canford Heath area of Poole in August 2013.

Family members reported the 41-year-old as missing and said they believe she could now be residing in the Hampshire area.

The family received written contact from Joanne in December but did not wish to make any further comments.

A spokesman from Dorset Police said: “This is a case where the family is not aware of her location. Enquiries are ongoing.”

UK charity Missing People has released a number of missing posters and these will be distributed throughout Dorset and Hampshire.

A spokesman from the Missing People charity said: “There is great concern for her welfare.

“If you think you can help the search then please call missing people.

“Joanne we would love to hear from you.”

Missing People offers a lifeline when someone disappears and works with young runaways, missing and unidentified people.

The charity also offers advice for families and provides support to end the heartache and confusion for those left behind.

Anyone with any information can call Missing People in confidence on 116000 or Dorset Police on 101.
