DORSET County Museum will be offering free entry next week as its Victorian Gallery closes for repairs.

Work on the wooden floor of the main hall means it will be closed from Monday, January 20 to Saturday, January 25, but visitors will be able to sample everything else the attraction has to offer free of charge.

The museum is also warning that there will be minor disruption in the Victoria Gallery tomorrow, Friday and Saturday as cases are moved to allow access to the floor.

A lunchtime concert featuring popular continental guitarist Bernardo will still take place as scheduled at 1pm tomorrow.

Entry to the concert is free.

The museum’s gift shop and tea room will be unaffected by the work and visitors are welcome to come in for a look around and cup of tea.

The museum’s current exhibition The Heart that Fed will also remain open next week with many of the paintings and sculptures on display up for sale.
