Dorset County Council is set to become one of the first local authorities to sign a pledge to tackle the stigma surrounding mental health. The ‘Time to Change’ ceremony will take place at the Dorford Centre in Dorchester on January 23, when council officials will pledge their support to end discrimination faced by people who experience mental health problems.
The pledge is part of a national campaign led by mental health charities Mind and Rethink.
John Wilson, chairman of Dorset County Council, the champion member for mental health, Michael Bevan and Catherine Driscoll, director for adult and community services will sign the pledge in front of more than 100 representatives.
