A PARTNERSHIP project is looking to build on climate change and sustainability initiatives in West Dorset.

Communities Living Sustainably (CLS) is looking to work with local organisations, community groups, local authorities and small businesses.

The project is led by Dorset Community Action and partners already include Bridport Energy Service Limited, Dorset County Council, Dorset Agenda 21, the Dorset Coast Forum, Dorset NHS, Transition Town Dorchester, Transition Town Bridport, Wessex Community Assets, the West Dorset Partnership and WSX Enterprise Ltd.

It has already overseen a range of initiatives including working with local schools to support the Eco-Schools Green Flag award.

The CLS has also supported ongoing projects by collaborating with the likes of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Dorset Waste Partnership, Dorset Water Partnership, the Environment Agency, Wessex Water and Regen-SW.

Dorset is one of 12 CLS programmes running nationally that are supported by the Big Lottery Fund and is the only one in the south west.
