A LIFERAFT sparked concerns after it was washed up on the beach at Overcombe Corner in Weymouth.
Coastguards investigated following reports yesterday morning and found it had come from a French racing yacht which sank off the Scilly Isles in December.
Later that morning the Weymouth RNLI Inshore Lifeboat was alerted to reports of a floating object northeast of Portland Bill.
They found it to be a pile of insulating foam.
Portland Coastguards co-ordinated a rescue in Devon after a woman injured her ankle on the coast path.
Coastguards from Beer were sent to help paramedics who were on the scene just before 12.30pm and she was taken to hospital by the air ambulance.
