BRIDPORT Town Council surveyor Daryl Chambers praised the electric company SEC for its work on the town’s new street lighting columns.

Mr Chambers said all the new street lighting was now in.

He said: “For a change I was extremely pleased with the way things went and have told SEC Lighting because they do get an awful lot of flak for things.”

He added that eight of the new columns were able to take cross-street lighting, which was all going to be reviewed in light of the incident in South Street at Christmas when South Street was closed off when part of a building lights were attached to started to come down.

Mr Chambers added: “It was nothing to do with the actual lighting rig itself, the brackets and cross wires were tested.”
