A VOLUNTEER is being sought to help improve support for people affected by Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes in Dorset.
Diabetes UK is looking for a volunteer to work with four local groups, which include West Dorset, Wimborne, Blackmore Vale and Yeovil.
Local groups act as the grassroots foundations of the charity, with over 10,000 people each month supported at more than 350 groups across the UK.
A local group’s work includes providing information, fundraising, campaigning and prevention work.
With more than 30,000 people affected by diabetes in Dorset, the charity aims to support more people affected by the condition.
The charity is looking for motivated applicants who have five to six hours a week to spare, experience in voluntary work and good communication skills.
Susi Calder, Diabetes UK South West voluntary development officer, said: “We are really excited about the potential for this new role to help us boost our support to people affected by diabetes in the South West.
“We are seeking a friendly, dynamic person who thinks strategically and is keen to improve the future of all people with diabetes.”
