A THERAPY event including reflexology and tarot reading will help raise money for two good causes.

Organisers are hosting the event at Redlands Community Sports Hub in Weymouth on February 22.

Money raised will go towards SANDS, which is a stillborn and neonatal death charity, as well as for local charity Ducks and Drakes.

One of the organisers, Jayne James, said there will be a host of therapies on offer including reflexology and others that are widely unknown as well as a range of stalls.

She added: “The idea behind this is that there are many types of therapies available yet little is known about them. Alternative conjures up images of ladies in cheesecloth and incense sticks.

“A lot of us local therapists thought it would be a great idea to pool our talents together, and, for a day, do these at rock bottom prices so everyone can afford to try them.”

The SANDS charity was chosen by Jayne, following the loss of her son Ben, who would have been 21 this year.

Little Ben died when he was born at 27 weeks old and lived for three weeks in the special care baby unit at Dorset County Hospital.

The rest of the money will go towards Ducks and Drakes for a local man called Andrew, who is battling cancer.

The event will be held between 10am and 3.30pm.
