DORSET is waking up to more wet weather today.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the county, warning of heavy rain and strong winds from 7am to 4pm.
An Atlantic frontal system is crossing the country, bringing with it up to 25mm of rain in places over a nine hour period and gusts of 50 to 60mph.
The public are being warned to be aware of potential disruption from flooding.
The Environment Agency has warned of flooding in the South Winterbourne Valley, with a flooding warning in place coving Winterbourne Abbas, Winterbourne Steepleton, Martinstown, Winterbourne Monkton, Winterbourne Herringston and Winterbourne Came.
It is advising that groundwater levels are continuing to rise following recent rainfall.
The Agency says: “This means that there is a greater risk of groundwater flooding along the South Winterbourne Valley and the A35 at Winterbourne Abbas.
“Heavy rain is forecast over the next few days which will cause the levels to rise further.”
The Met Office says the band of rain will clear eastwards in the early afternoon.
Sunshine and showers will follow, with temperatures feeling increasingly cold.
