TRAFFIC is being held up while emergency repair work is being carried out on Portland Beach Road to fix a sewer.
The work is causing delays for traffic travelling between Weymouth and Portland, with vehicles being controlled by traffic lights.
The sewer burst following extreme wet weather and high tides in the area.
A Wessex Water spokesman said delays to journeys can be expected.
The traffic lights will remain in place today and into tomorrow.
The spokesman said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused while we carry out the emergency repair work."
