POLICE and coastguards began a major search for a missing vulnerable woman in Poole.
The Portland Coastguard rescue helicopter was scrambled along with Dorset Police marine, land and air units.
Rescue teams searched the Poole and Bournemouth area at around 10pm on Monday. The search will continue this morning.
The search lasted for around four hours but sadly the woman, who had gone missing from a specialist medical facility near Sandbanks, has not been found.
Elsewhere, coastguards were called after a Portuguese tanker stopped mid-channel due to an engine problem.
The incident happened at around 5.50am.
The fault proved to be minor and the vessel ‘Coral Palmata’ continued its journey.
