POLICE are probing a fire at a garage block in Weymouth.
Residents reported hearing explosions at the units in Dawlish Crescent, Wyke Regis.
The fire on Wednesday night destroyed the contents in one of the garages.
Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the blaze was deliberate.
Dorset Police sent crime scene investigators to the scene this morning to look for clues as part of the investigation.
Firefighters from Weymouth and Portland were called to Dawlish Crescent in Wyke Regis at 7.30pm on Wednesday after the alarm was raised. Road closures were put in place for a short time while the fire was dealt with.
It was first thought that someone was trapped inside the unit and a search was carried out.
Crews confirmed that no one was inside and extinguished the blaze.
