A MOTORIST has been taken to hospital after a collision on the A354 this morning.

The A354 was shut both ways between Puddletown and Milborne St Andrew because of the accident in the early hours of this morning.

Dorset Police were called by the South Western Ambulance Service at 6.27am this morning.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We were alerted to a two vehicle collision on the A354 close to Milborne St Andrew.

“One motorist was taken to Dorset County Hospital although their injuries do not appear to be serious.

“The two cars involved were a blue Peugeot 407 and a blue Citroen Saxo; the road was re-opened at 8.17am and the vehicles were then recovered.”

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance said the service was called to the incident shortly before 6am this morning.

The spokesperson added: “There was a collision involving two cars on the A354 near Milborne St Andrew.

“One motorist suffered head injuries and was taken to Dorset County Hospital as a precaution – their injuries are not believed to be serious.

“Another motorist suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene by paramedics.”
