TWO PEOPLE were taken to hospital following a two car crash on Portland.

Police closed Easton Street at around noon and motorists faced delays at the Grove Road junction while fire crews, officers and paramedics worked at the scene.

The crash involved a blue Honda Jazz, registered to a Portland man, and a silver Honda Civic, registered to a woman from Portland.

A woman, who was in the Honda Jazz, became medically trapped in the Honda Jazz and firefighters were forced to remove the roof of the vehicle.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said officers were alerted at noon by the ambulance service.

The road reopened at around 1.30pm following vehicle recovery.

A 53-year-old man was arrested in connection to the incident for alleged driving offences.
