THE search for a star in Dorset continues tomorrow with the next round of talent contest auditions.

Dorset's Got Talent is a new competition for county residents supporting Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.

The winner will receive £500 cash, donated by the Hive Beach Café, and a family holiday at Freshwater Beach holiday park at Burton Bradstock, where the final will take place on Saturday, March 15.

The next audition will be at Charlton Down village hall on Saturday, February 8. All performance slots have been filled by contestants who have pre-booked.

If you want to be part of the audience for the evening semi-final at Charlton Down, where three finalists will be chosen, doors at the village hall open at 6pm for a show at 7pm. Tickets are £5 on the door.

Matt Smith from Weldmar said the standard of talent at the Weymouth auditions last weekend was 'amazing' and organisers were looking forward to seeing more performers on Saturday. As well as singers, contestants include a ventriloquist, a magician and dance troupes.

People who live in Dorset with a talent to show off and who would like to enter Dorset's Got Talent can join the audition at Freshwater Beach holiday park on March 8. Register at weld-hospice.org.uk
