PEOPLE who are struggling to keep warm this winter and want to save money are being given a helping hand.

Dorset Community Action is running an information and advice drop-in event at Chickerell on Thursday.

It is the latest in a series of events run by DCA in partnership with Magna Housing, the Co-op and other organisations.

People will be able to get information and advice on how to switch energy suppliers, keep warm and save money.

It will all be done over a cup of tea and biscuits. Visitors to the event will also receive free energy saving advice.

Simon Thompson, community action manager of Dorset Community Action said: “Dorset Community Action is experienced at working with communities to help them stay warm and use energy more efficiently.

“We have run an event in Beaminster already this year and we hope that people will come along to these informal drop-in sessions, which are designed to give the most relevant information for Dorset residents.”

It will be held at the Willowbed Hall at Chickerell on Thursday from 2pm to 6pm.

No booking is needed but for further information call 01305 216411 or email fiona.perez@dorsetcommunityaction.org.uk
