CYCLISTS are invited to make their mark in the fight for every heartbeat by supporting the British Heart Foundation’s Dorset Bike Ride.

Participants cycle up to 100 miles through glorious Dorset countryside in the event, supported by Santander, on Sunday, April 27.

More than 1,000 cyclists will pedal 25, 50, 60 or 100 miles and raise money to help fund the BHF’s essential research into heart disease which could create a better future for so many.

Andy Coles, event organiser for the BHF, said: “Thanks to the 1070 cyclists that took part last year, we raised a phenomenal £49,368 to help fund the BHF’s life-saving work. “Without our fundraisers we cannot continue to fight back against heart disease so a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported us. “Now we’re back in 2014 and ready to make this year our best yet.”

The ride takes place along country roads and with different distances to choose from is ideal for all ages and fitness levels. The route is fully marshalled and signposted with refreshments stops along the way route.

Entry fees are £15 for adults £5 for accompanied children 16 and under.

On the day entries are also available at £25 for adults and £7.50 for children. The entry cost only covers the cost of running the event so the BHF is urging supporters to raise as much money as possible to help them continue their fight back against heart disease and fund essential research that will make a difference to the millions living with heart disease around the UK.
