Recruitment drive: more retained firefighters are needed
DORSET Fire and Rescue Service is looking to recruit more retained firefighters.
They will be holding open evenings next week across north Dorset.
North Dorset DFRS district commander Louis Michella said: “We are really keen to recruit more on-call firefighters across Dorset but in particular at Sturminster Newton, Shaftesbury and Blandford.
“Being an on-call firefighter means living or working within four minutes of the fire station and being able to respond to an emergency when you are needed.”
The open evenings take place at Sturminster Newton fire station, February 25; Shaftesbury fire station, February 26; Blandford fire station, February 27. Visit dorsetfire.gov.uk or call 01305 252 600 for information.
