THE Terras have received clearance from Bristol Rovers to keep Jake Green for another month.

The full-back has been impressive during his loan stay at the Bob Lucas Stadium and is due to return from suspension next week.

However, Niall Thompson’s time at the club may have come to an end.

As yet, no deal has been agreed to extend the Torquay United winger’s loan, which expired last weekend.

The Terras travel to promotion-chasing Cambridge City tonight (7.45pm) for what promises to be a very tough game.

The fourth-placed Lilywhites are currently playing their home fixtures at Histon’s Bridge Road ground where they have only lost twice in 15 league outings so far this season.

Weymouth boss Jason Matthews told Echosport: “It’s a massive game. They have got two or three centre-halves out at the moment but I am under no illusions just how tough it is going to be.

“It is never easy play at Histon’s ground and we are going to need to keep it tight.

“Cambridge are one of the best teams we have played this season and it is no surprise at all that they are up there challenging for promotion. I was pleased with our attitude at Bedford last Saturday, in terms of how we approached the game, and we are going to need to be like that again.

“Bedford may be struggling at present but we started quickly and gave them very little encouragement.

“Considering we had a couple of new faces in the side, that performance was very pleasing.

“However, there is no doubt that tonight is going to be a very different challenge altogether, and we are going to need to be at our best to get anything.”

Luke Winsper and Ben Joyce remain doubts due to niggling injuries while Ashley Wells is out with a groin problem.

The Terras could also be without Michael Walker but George Rigg may well feature, despite having recently signed for Weston-super-Mare on dual registration forms.

Matthews explained: “Michael is back from suspension but his wife is due to give birth, so we will just have to wait and see on that.

“As for George, he was set to travel with Weston to Bishop’s Stortford last night but the game was postponed, so he could well be available to us this evening for what could be his last appearance.”

City have lost just one of their last 12 games in the Calor Southern Premier Division. During that time they have picked up 29 points and found the net an incredible 38 times.
