COUNCIL chiefs are seeking a new venue to hold main meetings following the decision to sell Weymouth’s historic Guildhall.
Weymouth and Portland Borough Council agreed last year to dispose of the Guildhall, the venue for full council meetings, as part of money-saving measures.
Eventually the council will move to other premises and hold meetings elsewhere but it needs to find somewhere in the meantime once the Guildhall is no longer available.
The building could be sold by May or June.
Possible venues are the Ballroom at the Riviera Hotel, the Chesham Suite at the Hotel Rembrandt and the Ocean Room at the Pavilion.
The management committee tomorrow will be asked to approve the new meeting venue.
