WEYMOUTH went around the world... in wine.

Partygoers donned their best outfits to dance the night away at Air FM’s Winefest 2014.

Guests got to sample special plonk from across the world, served by waiters dressed to represent each drink’s country of origin. Station manager Carl Greenham thanked the volunteers who made the night a success.

He said it has spurred on the AIR crew to come up with even more community events.

He added: “It was a brilliant night.

“Everybody really enjoyed themselves and we had people dancing on the tables and chairs.

“The event did exactly what we wanted it to do – show people what AIR is all about.

“We do things a little bit outside the box and like to put our own AIR twist on things.

“It was a lot of fun. The wine was flowing and there were lots of different flavours from around the world.

“The community came together for the community radio station.

“It was just real good fun.

“All the musicians who played loved it.”

There was a Brits-style awards ceremony as part of the proceedings and music from local acts such as Danny and the Goosemen.
