A SHOP owner is furious after a ‘mindless’ attack on her premises.

Police are investigating after the front door at The Party Shop in Abbotsbury Road, Weymouth, was smashed in an overnight attack. The glass did not shatter entirely and no entry was gained to the premises.

The fancy dress shop has been damaged before and owner Jan O’Brien is devastated by the latest incident.

She is offering a £50 reward for information leading to the conviction of those responsible. Mrs O’Brien said: “How many times is that now? It drives me mad.

“We’re insured of course but there’s such a high excess to pay.

“It’s absolutely sickening that someone would do this.”

The shop is fitted with security cameras and it is hoped a suspect will have been captured on tape.

Mrs O’Brien said: “The window in the door will have to be replaced and it will cost about £400-£500 at least.

“I don’t think whoever did it was trying to get in. It appears to be a case of mindless vandalism.

“We’re on a corner of two busy roads here and we seem to see it all and get it all.

“In this trading climate I just don’t need this.

“I’m offering a £50 reward in a bid to trace those responsible.”

Dorset Police is investigating criminal damage to the shop, which occurred sometime overnight on Tuesday, February 25. Witnesses and anyone with information should contact Dorset Police on 101 quoting crime number C-14-D-8321.
