IF YOU missed Solarference when they wowed audiences at Dorchester and Bridport arts centres, you can catch them again toimorrow when they bring their spooky and subtle show to Lighthouse in Poole.

Vocal and electronic music duo Solarference will perform a live sonic accompaniment to the classic 1920 silent film Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, followed by the performance of a short set of songs from their recent album Lips of Clay.

To end the evening, the duo will lead an informal ‘hands-on’ workshop, demonstrating some of their live electronic sound techniques. The audience will be invited to join the discussion and get involved with this unique opportunity to learn about and experience the process of live electronic sound.

Solarference – Nick Janaway and Sarah Owen – perform with voices, laptops, instruments and sound objects. Their work is rooted in a repertoire of English and Welsh traditional songs, set within worlds of transformed sounds.

Every sonic detail of a Solarference performance is crafted and created live as Nick and Sarah weave layers of sound, improvising and responding together – the music is born purely of the moment and place. Their performances are interactive, theatrical and fascinating live experiences.
