Residents are being warned to remain vigilant for rogue traders.
Dorset Police have said that due to the recent bad weather causing damage to gardens and roofs, there is an increased risk of vulnerable residents being targeted.
Officers are advising residents to be vigilant, not allow suspected rogue traders access and use traders registered to the local Trading Standards office.
Anyone who receives suspicious callers is asked to call the police on 101.
