Age UK Dorchester can provide advice and support for older people and their carers about their right to an assessment of their needs, local eligibility criteria and the means-test for both residential and non-residential care.
The charity can also help to arrange for care after someone is discharged from hospital, and getting people support and equipment in the home and meal provisions.
A spokesman for the group said: “Age UK Dorchester is able to identify where older people need advice to challenge decisions such as: care assessments, financial assessments, services provided or resource allocation system, or refusal to provide services or equipment.”
