THE Weymouth Golf Club junior section and the Weymouth Tigers celebrated another fantastic year in front of a packed clubhouse at Link Roads.

The annual presentation even-ing was a huge success with a selection of awards being handed out to the many talented youngsters at the club.

The biggest winner on the night was, undoubtedly, Sean Dimmick, who won, among many other awards, the British Golf Tour at the Belfry, the SW Tour at Thornbury, the Dudsbury Junior Open, the May Tankard, the Dorset County Under-16s, and the Junior Scratch and Dorset League.

He also played for the Hardy A and B teams, and reduced his handicap from 12 to sev- en.

Another high achiever was Lewis Knox, who became junior Club Champion – an hon- our which was held many years ago by professional Paul Casey.

Other winners included Jack Kerslake (Young Tigers Player of the Year), Jack Pallister (Tigers Championship Trophy) and Lizzie Grant (Girls’ Tiger Championship), and Molly King-ton, Maisie Coward, Shannon Parfitt and Emily Hussey (the Junior Mentor Scheme).

Club captain Colin Huckle and Luke Maddison also officially unveiled Connor Aitken and Mark Rankin as the section’s new junior captain and vice-captain respectively.

The success of the past year could not have happened without the dedication of club professional Des Lochie and his team, whose juniors fini- shed runners-up in the Dorset League, and also reached the quarter-finals of the Four Nations Team Championship and the semi-finals of the Scratch Knockout.

Weymouth Golf Club was also nominated for the National Club of the Year.
