A WEYMOUTH woman who fell outside a supermarket has expressed her gratitude for the support she received from strangers.

Janet Cole, 57, of Littlemoor, was in the car park of Lidl supermarket on Dorchester Road when she suddenly collapsed.

She said: “My face was the first thing to hit the concrete and it was bleeding.”

People passing by rushed to help Ms Cole, including an unknown lady and man.

She said: “There was a very kind lady that was comforting me and giving me tissues for the bleeding.”

As a crowd started to gather round Ms Cole, an unknown man also came to her aid.

She said: “He phoned the ambulance. He said, ‘No one can speak to the lady. She’s bleeding, she’s in shock.’ “I just wanted to let them know that I appreciate what they have done to help me.

She added: “I couldn’t even tell you what they look like.”

Ms Cole quickly received medical attention, but she’s still none the wiser why she fell.

“They gave me a good look over and everything and said it was okay to go home. They are not sure why I fell over either.”

Ms Cole said she felt ‘very sore’ and the fall had left her face in ‘quite a mess’.

Nevertheless, she remained in good spirits and thankful for the help she received from members of the public.

She said: “They were just wonderful.

“There are a lot of good people in Weymouth.”
