A MAN has been arrested after police became concerned for residents in a Weymouth street last night.
The 52-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray and is being held by police.
Armed police officers, five police cars, a police 4x4 and a police van were sent to a disturbance in a house in Lennox Street in the Park District at 8.30pm last night.
The action centred on the Landor Guest House.
A Dorset Police spokeswoman described the disturbance as 'an alleged domestic incident' and said threats were made with a knife.
She said: "A man was threatening to harm himself while also presenting a risk to the public and attending officers.
"The incident ended safely following the arrest of a 52-year-old Weymouth man on suspicion of affray.
"No one was injured during this incident and the detained man is currently helping officers with their inquiries."
