CHILDREN across Dorset are set to get a wiggle on for charity as part of Action for Children’s first ever Giant Wiggle event on Monday, March 17.

The event at the charity’s Mulberry Children’s Centre in Weymouth will coincide with others held in children’s centres, nurseries and groups for under-fives across the UK on or around March 20, for The Very Hungry Caterpillar Day. The day marks both the start of the 45th anniversary celebration of Eric Carle’s beloved book and Action for Children’s 145th year.

The sponsored event will bring together under-fives from across the area to wiggle along in giant caterpillar conga lines.

Liz Rowe, children’s services manager at Action for Children, said: “We are really excited about celebrating important anniversaries for both the book and Action for Children by taking part in the Giant Wiggle.”

All funds raised will be donated to Action for Children, supporting its work with the UK’s most vulnerable children, young people, and families.
