VOLUNTEERS rallied together to plant trees and shrubs in Lodmoor Country Park.

A total of 400 native tree and shrubs were planted in the centre of the popular Weymouth location to make up for losses during recent severe storms.

Dinah Ellis, of The Friends of Lodmoor Country Park group, said: “Members of Weymouth District Beavers, supervised by Tracy Winder, and members of the Friends of Lodmoor Country planted the trees and shrubs around the perimeter of the golf course.”

The trees were acquired from The Woodland Trust by Weymouth District Beaver Cub leader Sue Carter on behalf of Darren Melhuish, proprietor of Weymouth Pitch and Putt. Volunteers were rewarded with refreshments.
