Weldmar has two March in March sponsored walks – one in the south of Dorset and one in the north of Dorset.

Both take place on the same day – Sunday, March 23 and are perfect for the whole family.

The north Dorset walk is happening for the first time and is along the North Dorset Trailway to Sturminster Newton, starting and ending at Shillingstone Station. The south walk will take place in Weymouth and Portland, starting and ending at Osprey Leisure Centre, and this is the second year that it has taken place.

Mark Howlett, Weldmar’s Community Fundraiser for south Dorset, said: “We are really looking forward to having our second March in March in Weymouth and Portland and are very grateful to Osprey Leisure Centre for their support. This year’s family, pram and dog friendly walk starts and finishes at Osprey Leisure Centre, is flat and will take in the views across Portland harbour.”

The walk is approximately six miles in total but walkers can turn around at any point if the weather isn’t being kind or if their feet are feeling tired.

Registration for the walk costs £8 for adults and £4 for anyone under 16. Walkers can register online now by visiting weld-hospice.org.uk/marchinmarch or paper registration forms can be found at Joseph Weld Hospice in Dorchester, Trimar Day Hospice in Weymouth, Hammick House in Poundbury and Osprey Leisure Centre on Portland.

The closing date for registration is Wednesday, March 19.
