From freezing temperatures to sunshine- what a difference a year makes.
It might be hard to believe given this week’s bright sunshine, but this week last year saw freezing conditions and snow.
Dorset shivered under a blanket of snow, as cold winds from the north swept across the county at speeds of 47mph. Motorists were warned to drive carefully amid icy roads and poor visibility.
Here’s a picture from Echo photographer Graham Hunt taken in March 2013 and below is a picture taken today by Echo reader George McCabe.
However, the week before this snowy image was taken, the county had been basking in sunshine and highs of 16. Fortunately it does not look likely that history will repeat itself, with the temperatures set to remain around 13 degrees across the weekend and sunshine forecast for Sunday.
Looking further ahead, Dorset could see more wet weather as rain bands move in later next week.
