POLICE are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a spate of burglaries in the Weymouth and Portland area.

Four burglaries occurred at commercial properties between 8pm on SaturdayMarch 8 and 7.50am on Monday March 10.

Offenders broke into Eagle Plant Hire and Dorset Auto Spares on Cambridge Road in the Granby Industrial Estate, Fresh Bites on Portland Road – all in Weymouth – and Quiddles Café along Chiswell on Portland.

Various items were stolen which included tools, food items and money.

Police Constable Neil Fitch, of Weymouth police, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who saw suspicious activity in these areas over the weekend.

“It is believed that all four burglaries are linked.

“I would urge all residents to be vigilant and to contact the police if they have any concerns.

“If you see something untoward, or if you think a burglary is taking place, please call the police immediately.

“Anyone with information which can help with the investigation is urged to come forward as soon as possible.

“All calls are treated with the strictest confidence.”

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing at this time.
