THE Portland Coastguard helicopter was scrambled to a rescue a man who jumped off a cliff.

Rescuers were alerted to Orcombe Point near Exmouth in Devon last night.

Coastguards said the 32-year-old survived the fall but was taken to hospital for treatment to some injuries.

The coastguard helicopter was among the units sent to the scene but the man ended up being taken to hospital in Exeter by a police helicopter.
