COASTGUARD ROUND-UP: Paraglider airlifted after crash
A PARAGLIDER was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after crashing.
The 41-year-old woman, who suffered back and shoulder injuries, crashed at Ibberton, near Blandford, at 5pm yesterday.
She was met by the Wyke Regis coastguard team.
Elsewhere, coastguards experienced a busy Sunday with many seafarers enjoying the fine conditions.
Yesterday morning, Portland Coastguard received a report of people possibly having difficulty on the cliff path at Blacknor.
Coastguards investigated and nothing was found.
Outside Weymouth Harbour, a yacht was towed to its mooring by a local boat after she suffered engine failure.
Wyke Regis Coastguard Rescue Officers were able to assist yesterday lunchtime.
A small dinghy was thought to be broken down off Peveril Point but was able to restart its engine and carry on yesterday lunchtime.
A 28ft motor boat reported engine failure in Poole Harbour.
The Poole Lifeboat crew towed the vessel back to meet Poole Coastguards for safety advice.
At 2.20pm yesterday, the Poole Lifeboat crew helped a jet-skier who had broken down outside Poole Harbour.
Just outside Weymouth, a RIB requested help from Portland Coastguard at 3.31pm because she experienced engine failure.
Weymouth Lifeboat attended and towed the boat back into Weymouth.
