A SUPPORT group for parents with troubled teenagers has been given a welcome boost from a fundraising evening.

Hang On In There is an informal group based in Dorchester and set up by and for parents of difficult youngsters.

A raffle with donations from local companies at Taste Restaurant in Trinity Street raised £224.

Mum Elizabeth Clark, who set up the group with Nicky Cumber, said: “We started in September last year and it is going really well.

“It’s not a course, it’s completely informal and non-judgemental.

“We hold meetings every two weeks and people can come and chat or just sit and listen if they want.”

She added: “People who have been coming along have said the group has been a lifeline for them.”

The pair wished to say thank you to Todd and Louise Moffat, owners of Taste, for allowing them to hold the fundraising evening and donating £100 to the group, and also to Ross Cumber and the staff for their Pudding Club evening and their help and support.

The group meets every other Wednesday from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at the Seaton Room at the Dorset Youth Association, Lubbecke Way, Dorchester. For more details, email hang.oninthere@yahoo.com
