A NEW exporter’s forum for Dorset businesses has been launched.

The Dorset Chamber of Commerce & Industry kickstarted the forum in Bournemouth with the help of UK Trade & Investment South West and the Dorset International Business Network.

The chamber is keen to promote the success of established international companies in the region but also encourage those considering it.

The event provided the opportunity for companies and service providers to discuss opportunities overseas, share practical advice and important considerations before taking a leap into the unknown.

Ian Girling, chief executive of Dorset Chamber of Commerce & Industry, said: “Driving exports and international trade forward in Dorset and the South West is essential to the economic growth of our region. Dorset businesses export many kinds of goods and services. They will be seeking to increase trade as the economy improves at home and abroad.”

During the event George Ponsford, sales and marketing director at Kestrel Medical Ltd, shared a success story about his export business.

The event was the first of four planned for this year.
