A recent raffle at the community centre during the Friday night Bingo session raised £100 for the widow of Colin Harmer who sadly passed away a few weeks ago.

Colin, a well-known singer and club entertainer had been suffering poor health for some time.

Despite this he tirelessly worked to arrange and co-ordinate  social events and disco’s at the community centre.

Colin’s sudden death left his family in financial distress and the great citizens of Littlemoor rallied round.

Local businesses and shops generously donated prizes for the raffle so a big thank you is owed to the Co-Op, Elegance hairdressers, Daniels Fish and Chips, Paul’s café, The Sandcastle and Dorchester amateur boxing Club.

  • Off The Cuff, Littlemoor’s creative writing group are hoping to produce an anthology of their work this year.  The anthology will include short stories and poems based on the theme of Littlemoor written by members of the group.

But if you have any short stories, anecdotes or true life stories set in and around our area we’d love to see them and hopefully include them.

Stories should be about 750 words and poems of less than 40 lines on any topic as long as Littlemoor is mentioned!

Contributions should  preferably be typed, but as long as it’s clear to read that will be acceptable. On one side of the paper please and double spaced. Please put your name, the word count and your contact details at the head of the first page.

Closing date is 30th April.

Please hand your contributions into the library and label them Off The Cuff writing.
