A CHEMICAL incident was investigated by Dorset Fire and Rescue Service at Portland Heights this morning.
Crews from Weymouth, Portland and Poole arrived at the scene after receiving a call at around 8.45am.
A ‘strong smell of chemicals’ was reported from a leaking fridge.
A spokesperson for the service said: “Crews took the fridge outside to ventilate it. It was no hazard to anybody in particular.”
Part of the building remained cordoned off as crews removed the fridge. Nobody was injured.
Speaking at the time of the incident, a spokesperson for Portland Heights said: “We obviously realised it was something we couldn’t deal with ourselves so we called the brigade.”
The IPACA inquiry being held at the hotel carried on as normal and finished at lunchtime.
