Firefighters were called to a chemical incident at the Portland Heights Hotel yesterday.
Crews from Weymouth, Portland and Poole arrived at the scene after receiving a call at around 8.45am.
A ‘strong smell of chemicals’ was reported to be coming from a leaking fridge.
A Dorset Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “Crews took the fridge outside to ventilate it. It was no hazard to anybody in particular.”
Part of the building remained cordoned off as crews removed the fridge. There were no reported injuries.
