FAMILIES, individuals and businesses hit by last month’s storms can get funding and grants from the Rotary Club thanks to generous donations from the public.

The support for collections organised by Dorset Rotarians and other clubs across the world means that the organisation has an emergency fund of £82,000 for those who are in need of urgent relief.

However, the Rotary says it needs to know where its help is needed now to fill an immediate need.

It also has a range of items that can be collected or borrowed from a small warehouse of supplies.

Peter Noble from the Rotary Club of Dorchester is one of three people responsible for managing the funds and grants across the district.

Write to Rotarian PJW Noble, 1 Haylands Close, Dorchester, DT1 3WR or email peter@gshow.co.uk and outline the need and urgency and any other information to ensure the request can be processed rapidly.

A number of grants have already been provided to small businesses in the county affected by the weather and more are currently being processed.
