DORSET residents can help to support the work of the British Red Cross in the region.
Nationwide Building Society allows members and the public to vote online for the charities they would like to receive £5,000 of funding, as part of the Society’s new initiative – The Big Local.
Each month Nationwide chooses three charities nominated by its members from a different UK region, and the Red Cross in the South West is looking for support.
The charity helps people across the region by providing support at home and in local emergencies and is looking to receive as many votes as possible through The Big Local during March to secure the £5,000 worth of funding.
Red Cross operations director Sarah Gibson says: “We are delighted to have been given this chance to be chosen by Nationwide customers to receive this generous donation.
"As we showed recently during the flooding, and as we show every day through the work our volunteers do to help people in crisis, we are there when people need us.”
