YOUNGSTERS at a Dorchester school had the chance to become real life Willy Wonkas as they enjoyed a chocolate themed project.
Year Four pupils at Manor Park First School, left, were tasked with designing their own chocolate treats.
They enjoyed a market research trip to the county town’s Tesco store before designing and making their own sweet treats by melting down their choice of chocolate and adding different ingredients to it.
The children then designed their own packaging for the chocolates and made an advert for it. Class teacher Liz Kagi added: “We have also looked at the history of chocolate and the geography of where chocolate comes from and talked about fairtrade.”
Fellow class teacher Esther Derrien said that to celebrate the topic the children held a chocolate market that they invited the Year Three pupils to.
Community champion for Tesco in Dorchester Lisa Bedford also attended the event and awarded a prize to the three children who had excelled during the project.
