THE cheapest skatepark company would charge £40,000 for work needed for the next stage of Bridport’s skatepark redesign.
But town surveyor Daryl Chambers told councillors at the finance and general purposes committee meeting that it is proposed to get the work done locally – for no more than £17,000.
He told councillors the first stage of maintenance of the surface, making existing equipment had been done successfully – and locally – for a little more than £10,000. Councillors agreed to waive the financial regulations that say they should go out to full tender for projects costing more than £10,000.
