VISITORS to a Dorchester bar got a taste of prize-winning Dorset-produced fine food.
Owners of Capreolus Fine Foods David and Karen Richards showcased their produce, which is made in Rampisham, at a tasting event at the Durnovaria Wine Bar.
David, who started the business as a hobby, also gave a talk on how the cured meats are made.
He said: “Because of the weather conditions, it’s not the sort of thing people expect you can make in Dorset, but we have invested a lot in equipment to make sure they are consistently good and safe.
"I have to admit my first attempts were a bit hit and miss.”
Capreolus has been named as a finalist in the best food producer category of the BBC Food and Farming Awards.
Durnovaria Wine Bar owner Jim Ross said: “We are glad to have David and Karen here. The night was a real success and we would love to showcase more local producers.”
