CHILDREN in need will have a fin-tastic day out as a Weymouth attraction opens its doors for free.

To celebrate the 100th opening of a Merlin attraction, Weymouth Sea Life Park will host a special event on Friday, April 11.

They would like nominations for children aged between two and 18 who would benefit from visiting the park for free and meeting the Moshi Monsters.

The Sea Life Park will be opening its doors to 100 disabled children or those with serious and long-term illnesses, young carers, children who are disadvantaged and those with a terminally ill parent.

The children will receive free access to the park as well as a goody bag and can take up to two guardians along.

It is part of the Merlin’s Magic Wand 100 100 event which will see all of the company’s attractions open their doors for similar events.

Senior general manager of Weymouth Sea Life Tamsin Mutton-Mcknight said: “We’re thrilled to be hosting our 100 100 event for Merlin’s Magic Wand (MMW) this month. “MMW puts the magic back into the childhoods of seriously ill, disabled and disadvantaged children by arranging great days out at Merlin Entertainment attractions, so we’re looking forward to inviting 100 children to the park to celebrate the opening of the 100th Merlin attraction.

“There will be lots of treats in store from us and additional goodies from Innocent Smoothies, Manor Foods and Graingers too.

“We aim to provide some brilliant memories which will last a lifetime and this event will be fantastic for those attending.”
