Fire crews had to cut a man out a car following an accident.

Dorset Police said they were called to a report of a two vehicle collision at 4.20pm on the A35 Tolpuddle Bypass heading eastbound from Dorchester to Bere Regis on a slipway.

A man was trapped in a black Mercedes coupe. The ambulance service was called and fire crews attended to remove the roof of the vehicle to release the man who was medically trapped.

He was then taken to hospital by ambulance. Police officers said his injuries were not life threatening.

Part of the central reservation was damaged on the central carriageway.
